Building 5 in Pleasantville where Aaron Ambrose was killed on Sunday.

Police were up to late yesterday continuing their investigations into the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old welder near his home in Pleasantville on Sunday night.

He has been identified as Aaron Ambrose of Building 5, Pleasantville Avenue.

Investigators have not yet ascertain a motive for Ambrose’s killing.

Ambrose’s mother Jeane Brown saw him around 8 pm on Sunday at their home before she went to bed.

Hours later, around 11.30 pm she was awaken by a neighbour who told her son had been shot.

The mother rushed to the northern side of the building and saw her son lying on his back bleeding.

He had been shot to the back of the neck.

A knapsack containing hemp, cigarette packs and wrapping paper was on his shoulder.

His cellular phone and $95 were also recovered at the scene.

Police also took possession of two bottles of Forres Park Puncheon, a Carib bottle and a Coca-Cola bottle, a face mask and bandana.

A district medical officer viewed the body and ordered its removal to the mortuary. An autopsy was expected to be done yesterday at the Forensic Science Centre but was put for today.

Among the officers at the scene were ASP Williams, Sgt Richardson, Cpl Bridgemohan, crime scene investigator PC Cromwell, PC Rahim, Rambhajan, PC Ribero from the Mon Repos Police Station and Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3. Inquiries are continuing.
