Despite rumours that a nurse confessed to murdering Princes Town mother Kadijah Flament and dumping her body, relatives are holding on to the hope of finding her alive.
Flament, 24, of Lothian’s Road, left home last Monday to visit her eight-year-old child, who lives with a friend at Olera Heights in San Fernando.
However, her boyfriend reported to relatives that she did not return, and calls to her phone went unanswered. On Thursday, her aunt filed a missing person’s report to the Princes Town police.
Investigators detained and questioned a San Fernando woman and later searched an apartment in Olera Heights on Saturday afternoon but did not find Flament.
Police searched an area along a dirt road off Daisy Road, Ste Madeleine, yesterday afternoon but did not say who or what they were searching for in the fields. However, Flament’s relatives were on the scene, carrying out their search as well.
A relative said the police were not confirming whether they were looking for Flament there.
“Well, you know how it is with these kinds of things, but we are not saying that she is dead because we have not found a body,” a relative told Guardian Media on the scene. The relative added that Flament’s child remains safe.
As police refused to share anything, the relatives moved their search onto the M1 Tasker Road.
Police have asked that anyone who has information that can help find Flament call the Princes Town Police Station at 655-2231 or 800-TIPS or contact the police at 555, 999, 911, or any police station or share information via the TTPS app.
Flament is of mixed descent, five feet tall, slim build and fair complexion.
