Pleasantville labourer Renaco Pierre was discharged from the San Fernando General Hospital yesterday as investigators continue to probe his kidnapping. Pierre, 26, was treated at the hospital yesterday morning for bumps and bruises he suffered during an assault by his kidnappers near his San Fernando home on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, his three kidnappers, including a police constable attached to the Guard and Emergency Branch, remained in custody up to last evening. The civilian suspects are a 26 and 29 years old, both from Mon Repos, San Fernando. Around 11 pm on Thursday, Southern Division police received a report that a man was being assaulted along Coconut Drive by three men, including one wearing a police uniform. The victim was thrown into a black SUV which sped out of the village. Southern Division Task Force and the Emergency Response Patrol with assistance from South West Division police went in search of the SUV.
It was spotted along Pluck Road, Woodland.
When officers intercepted the SUV, they found the officer, two other suspects and Pierre who was bounded by handcuffs and had several marks on his body.
A firearm was also recovered.
They were all taken to the Mon Repos Police Station where Pierre reported that he was kidnapped by the men. He was taken to the hospital and police were awaiting a medical report.
