Cris Kernil Motiram has been arrested and charged by PC Wears, of the Penal Police Station, for possession of ammunition.
According to police reports, on August 19th around 6.35 am Sgt Haynes, Sgt Ali, Cpl George, PC Wears, and members of the Penal Criminal Investigations Department and South-Western Division Task Force went to a house on Beckles Street, Penal.
PC Wears and PC Ramdath executed a search warrant at the premises for arms and ammunition. The officers reportedly discovered two nine millimetre CAVIM ammunition on a mattress in a bedroom located on the western side of the house.
Motiram, 30, a vendor, of Ganga Street Balmain, Couva, was arrested and charged for possession of ammunition. The accused is expected to appear before the Siparia Magistrates’ Court today for the offence.
