COVID-19 has claimed another life, raising the national death toll from the disease to 83 persons, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Health.

In its morning update for today, Tuesday 6 October 2020, the Ministry reports that the latest person to succumb to COVID-19 is an elderly male with pre-existing medical conditions.

The Ministry also notes that 51 additional persons have tested positive for COVID-19, and they will be processed for admission at the discretion of the CMOHs.

According to the Ministry’s data, these new cases bring the total number of active cases in T&T to 1,784 persons.

In other highlights from this morning’s update:

●· Ten (10) persons have been discharged from public health facilities. The total number of persons discharged from public health facilities is 1,107.

●  There are 57 recovered community cases, those persons who were previously COVID-19 positive and in self-isolation at home, and who subsequently met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation. The total number of recovered community cases is 1,844.
