The Chairman of the Penal/Debe Regional Corporation (PDRC), Dr Allen Sammy, is confirming that 28 staff members at the Corporation’s Administrative Building currently are in quarantine, because of 14 of those staff members testing positive for COVID-19.

“Non-affected members of staff have been placed on rotation and the Corporation’s ongoing three-day sanitation programme has been stepped up to daily spraying, at both the Administrative and back building which houses our Works, Health and Disaster Management departments,” a release from the Corporation says.

It adds: “In spite of these challenges, the delivery of services to the people continue, albeit with a reduced capacity to maintain daily quotas. Cesspit emptiers, in particular, are working aggressively to reduce their backlog in spite of the challenges at the WASA waste-emptying station in San Fernando.”

The Corporation is asking residents in the region “to continue to kindly maintain their patience in the face of this COVID adversity.”
