Cunupia man arrested for larceny

A Cunupia man was arrested for Larceny by officers of the Criminal Investigations Department after a victim reported he was tricked of $5,500 on September 9th.
The exercise was conducted by the Northern Division Task Force, Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol and officers of the Cunupia Criminal Investigations Department.
According to police reports, the victim reported that he met with the suspect in Valencia, aimed at buying, a grey Nissan Tida, which was advertised on Facebook.
The arrangements were to test drive the vehicle, then go to a lawyer’s office to do the paperwork. Whilst test driving the vehicle the victim paid the suspect $5,500, which was a down payment for the vehicle. They then proceeded to Munroe Road Cunupia to make photocopies, the victim left the vehicle to make the photocopies, the suspect then drove off along Munroe Road.
The Cunupia Police were contacted and with the assistance of the Emergency Response Patrol, the vehicle was intercepted along Mausica Road, Arima and the suspect arrested. PC Baptiste in continuing enquiries.
