Rhondor Dowlat-RostantA 38-year-old woman from Cunupia died in a vehicular accident on Christmas Eve night. She has been identified as Asha Mohammed of #64 Ragoo Street, Munroe Road.

According to a police report, at about 10.11 pm a party of officers responded to a report of a fatal accident near LP 87 Munroe Road, Cunupia.

On arrival the officers saw two wrecked vehicles on the scene – a Black Ford Ranger and a silver Nissan B14.

Mohammed, who was on the driver’s side of the B14 was found dead and her body pinned under the steering wheel of the mangled vehicle. She was identified by her husband Joel Mohammed. Fire officers, who arrived on the scene, had to use the hydraulic cutter, also called the Jaws of Life, to free her body. Police said the driver of the Ford Ranger, Richard Henry and passengers Keron Pesnell, Stephon Pedro, Peter Charles and Brandon Francis all sustained injuries and were taken to seek for medical attention. Police said the two vehicles hit head- on and both spun out of control in opposite directions before crashing into sides of the road.Investigations are continuing.
