A Curepe man is the country’s latest murder victim. He has been identified as Dave Phillip, of Ramgoolie Street.
According to a police report, at about 6.50 pm on Wednesday Phillip was found dead on the roadway on Ramgoolie Street.
Police said he was shot several times.
Eight spent 9mm shells and a cutlass were found at the scene.

seized in Barataria
Five men were arrested after two firearms and a quantity of marijuana were seized during an anti-crime exercise in Barataria.
Police said during the exercise, officers received information and went to Valley Drive, Morvant, where they found 355 grammes of marijuana.
A 38-year-old man, of Upper 6th Avenue Malick, Barataria, was arrested in connection with the find.
During another search at Upper 6th Avenue Malick, Barataria they found 292 grammes of marijuana and arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with that find.
The officers then proceeded to 1st Panchoo Lane, Boundary Road, San Juan, where a search warrant was executed for firearms and ammunition.
A Ruger pistol and 16 rounds of ninemillimetre ammunition along with a 357 Derringer pistol, ten rounds of .38 ammunition and one round of .357 ammunition were found and seized.
Police arrested two men from Barataria and another man of Boundary Road, San Juan in connection with the find.
