Prof Sir Hilary Beckles

Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) chairman Professor Sir Hilary Beckles has convened a team that will review the modified approach for the administration of this year CSEC and CAPE; the moderation process applied to the School-Based Assessment (SBA) and the grading process for the July/August examinations, among other related matters.

Chair of the review team is Professor Hazel Simmons-McDonald, Professor Emerita and retired Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of the West Indies’ Open Campus.

Other members of the team are retired UWI Pro Vice-Chancellor, Planning and Development Professor Andrew Downes, president of the University of Curacao Professor Francis De Lanoy, retired Chief Education Officer in Ministry of Education (T&T) Harrilal Seecharan and Antigua and Barbuda Minister of Education and chair of the CARICOM Council for Human and Social Development Michael Browne.

A release said the team was scheduled to meet with Beckles yesterday and will begin work immediately and report to the CXC chairman by October 16.
