A man and a woman were found shot dead in a car on Sunday morning when an anonymous caller alerted police in the wee hours of the day to rapid gunfire in the Cunupia area.
According to police, the call came in around 2.45 am and when officers of the Cunupia police station got to Richie Lane, off Sampson Street in Cunupia, they found a silver Nissan B15 sedan, registration PCB 4367, parked on the street with its two front doors open.
The officers found a man, who has been identified as Stanton Gialdo lying on the road on the driver’s side of the vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
In the front passenger seat, the officers found the lifeless body of Mary Mark, also bearing multiple gunshot wounds.
Police say Mark was originally from Couva.
Inspector Ramkumar and Corporal Radhaykissoon of the Homicide Region 3, as well as Task Force officers, were on the scene.
