The current daily number of positive COVID-19 cases is exceeding projections made several weeks ago by the Ministry of Health.

And with cases continuing to rise daily, the parallel health care system can be overwhelmed faster than the seven to ten-day time period announced on Monday. This according to epidemiologist Dr Avery Hinds, who was speaking at the Prime Minister’s Press conference on Friday afternoon.

Hinds said the cumulative totals on a daily basis are actually higher than projected.
He said there is no downward curve and cases will rise drastically unless some braking method is employed immediately.
