The Equal Opportunity Tribunal has made changes to its operations in response to workplace guidelines provided by the government in dealing with the novel coronavirus.

As a result of the risks associated with the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic and responding to the workplace guidelines and pandemic provisions mandated by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the Equal Opportunity Tribunal has initiated its COVID-19 Response Strategy.

To safeguard the health of staff and members of the public, and to ensure business continuity with minimal inconvenience to all stakeholders, the Tribunal will implement alternative operations from March 16 -31, 2020.

The Tribunal will employ its remote work policy to maintain the essential operations of the Court and the Registry during this period.

The filing of documents will resume at the Tribunal’s office on Friday 27th March, 2020. In appropriate cases, applications will be dealt with without a hearing and email notifications of orders will be made. 

Case management hearingswill be done by video conference and attorneys will be provided with a secure link by which hearings can be conveniently accessed at the specified time. Attorneys will be contacted by the Registry with respect to new dates for affected trials.
