The Ministry of Finance is assuring the public that all details concerning the implementation of the Salary Relief Grant, would be made available by next Monday, March 30th.

In an official statement issued this morning, the finance ministry explains that the various protocols and procedures concerning applying for and distribution of the grant, currently are being fine-tuned.

The full text of the Ministry’s statement, follows…

“In light of the concerns surrounding possible temporary unemployment during the Covid19 pandemic, the Government wishes to assure the public that it is currently in the process of implementing a temporary Salary Relief Grant of up to $1,500 for a period of up to 3 months. 

As stated at the press conference on Monday March 23rd, 2020, and as reported in all media yesterday, the details, application procedures and qualification criteria for the Grant are expected to be finalized within 7 days, i.e. by Monday March 30th, 2020. 

Thereafter, qualifying members of the public will be able to apply through the designated offices and the processing of applications will run its natural course. 

It should be noted that the Grants will be given on a case by case basis, depending on the personal circumstances of the individuals involved.”
