Five Held in Central Division anti-crime exercise

Five persons were arrested and a bulletproof vest, a pair of camouflage pants, two masks and a quantity of cocaine seized by officers of the Central Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the Chaguanas district yesterday.

The exercise was conducted between 2:30pm and 7:00pm, on Wednesday 5th February 2020, and was supervised by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Hunte, Supt. (Ag.) Mystar, ASP Smith, Insp. Jordan and Sgt. Stewart.

According to official police reports, during the exercise, officers proceeded to Maraj Street, Chaguanas, where they conducted a search of a house, which resulted in the illegal items being discovered.

Five men, ages 18 to 43 years, all of Maraj Street, Chaguanas, were arrested in connection with the finds.

In a separate incident, acting on information, officers proceeded to Nelson Street in Freeport, where they conducted a search of a bushy area. The search resulted in the discovery of one Smith and Wesson revolver and one round of ammunition.

Investigations are ongoing.
