Jerk chicken vendor, Robert Mc Carthy, had his tent torched at Crown Point, Tobago on Monday night.

Mc Carthy, a Jamaican national, said he has been selling on the spot for the last eight years and recently had a run in with some locals. He said his tent was torched some three months ago.

The food vendor told Guardian Media he saw a group of men liming in his tent on Sunday July 18th and made a police report. However, he said the police informed him that they could not do anything at that time.

Mc Carthy said he has no choice but to open up, notwithstanding the damage, in order to put food on the table for his family.

He said he has been getting calls and have a loyal customer base.
