RHONDOR DOWLAT-ROSTANT

Former head of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, retired Superintendent Wayne Boyd, has been found dead at his home in Couva.

Details are still coming in, but Guardian Media was told Boyd was found unresponsive at his Roystonia home in Couva on Monday morning, by someone who went to check on him after he failed to answer many calls made to his phone.

It is believed that the late AKS boss may have died of a heart attack, which is yet to be confirmed.

Police officers and EHS personnel are said to be at Boyd’s home at this time.

The District Medical Officer is expected shortly to make the necessary examinations and pronouncements.

Following his retirement from the Police Service, Wayne Boyd is said to have worked in the private security industry in San Fernando.
