Four arrested for supermarket robbery

Four persons were held by police in connection with a supermarket robbery in Chase Village. The men stole $1,400.00 and a quantity of cigarettes. The following is a press release from the TTPS:

Four persons ranging in ages 17 to 20 years, will appear virtually before a Chaguanas Magistrate today, Monday 23rd August after being held for a robbery at Summer’s Supermarket, Chase Village on Wednesday 18th August 2021. SAMUEL ROOPCHAND, 20, of Calcutta No.4 Freeport, and TERRELL ST CYR, 18, of Primrose Drive, Chase Village along with two minors both aged 17, were held on Thursday 19th August in connection with the robbery.

Around 2:15 pm on Wednesday the four men, three of whom were armed with cutlasses, entered the supermarket and announced a robbery. They stole $1,400.00 and a quantity of cigarettes. They then escaped on foot in an unknown direction. The men were charged by P.C. RAMPERSAD of the Freeport police station.
