A 17-year-old girl was fatally struck by a car while walking along a pavement not far from her home in Fyzabad on Monday.

At the time of the accident, Shaquana Hills of Richardson Trace, Pepper Village, was on her way home after going to the pharmacy.

A report stated that around 5:30 pm, Shaquana was walking on the pavement along the main road in Pepper Village when a Nissan Sylphy struck her.

Guardian Media understands the 22-year-old driver, who also is from Fyzabad, told police that he lost control of his car near Maharaj Trace, swerved off the road and slammed into her.

Shaquana suffered head injuries and died on the way to hospital.  On her Facebook page, her mother, Adafdi Hills, posted:

“Look at your pretty face… not going to see u anymore… if only we could trade places just for u to live your life and it was taken away from u…  I love u… u made me a mummy. SIP.”

Fyzabad Police are investigating.
