Government rejects UWI’s bid to increase tuition fees

Government is rejecting UWI St Augustine’s bid to increase tuition fees, and instead, has proposed the institution consider cutting courses. Finance Minister Colm Imbert said given the economic climate, adjustments were needed as government will be reducing its funding to the campus. To potentially buffer UWI’s financial challenges, government says it will contemplate reviewing GATE. Jesse Ramdeo has the details.
