The YELLOW Level Hazardous Seas Alert, which was activated yesterday afternoon, remains in effect until Thursday morning, according to the latest advisory on the matter from the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS).

The Met Service notes that north-easterly high energy swells are impacting nearshore areas of Tobago and the northern coastline of Trinidad. These swells can result in higher surfs and occasional battering waves. Conditions can be exacerbated during high tides.

The Hazardous Seas Alert/YELLOW Level will be in effect from 2 pm Tuesday 16th to 10 am Thursday 18th November 2021, for nearshore areas of Tobago and northern areas of Trinidad. (Image courtesy TTMS)

Met Service forecasters are encouraging all marine interests to carefully monitor the nearshore coastal sea conditions and exercise caution along affected areas.

In addition, the public is encouraged to monitor updates from the official weather source, the TTMS at www.metoffice.gov.tt and for additional information to visit the ODPM at www.odpm.gov.tt.
