The following is a media statement by Heritage Petroleum:

Yesterday (24 April 2020), Heritage Petroleum Company Limited (HPCL) distributed relief hampers as part of its COVID-19 Relief Initiative. 300 families within the company’s fenceline communities received hampers, which were comprised of food items, cleaning essentials and face masks. The cloth masks were donated by Sotech General Contractors Limited. On hand for the distribution was HPCL’s Chief Executive Officer Arlene Chow who noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a far-reaching impact on communities both locally and globally. She stated that “now more than ever, we all have a moral obligation to be our brother’s keeper. There are families who need assistance to just get the basics and this initiative is an effort to bring some measure of relief.” Ms. Chow stressed that focus is being placed on the most vulnerable members of HPCL’s fenceline communities. On hand to assist with the distribution were the Councillors for Palo Seco, Siparia West/Fyzabad and Erin as well as with the Member of Parliament for La Brea, Nicole Olivierre, who all worked closely with the Company to identify those families most in need. The CEO thanked the MP and Councilors for their assistance and stated that there is a strong culture of volunteerism and giving back at the Company. Consequently, over the coming weeks, Heritage employees will themselves fund the second wave of hamper distribution to those families who are in need. The community representatives expressed their appreciation for initiative. Member of Parliament for La Brea, Nicole Olivierre said, “I want to thank Heritage for making good on their commitment to integrate with our community in truly meaningful ways. I think I can safely say on behalf of this community, both as MP and resident, we appreciate this step and we are willing to step side by side with this organisation to forge and protect a mutually beneficial partnership.” Heritage Petroleum Company Limited is committed to working together with its stakeholders and to providing support to its communities where necessary.
