Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds met with Korean Ambassador His Excellency Dongil Oh today at the Ministry of National Security Head Office. The Ambassador assumed duties at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Trinidad and Tobago in September. The following is a press release from the Ministry of National Security:
Minister of National Security the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds M.P. met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea His Excellency Dongil Oh, on Tuesday October 05, 2021.
The meeting served to introduce the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, who assumed duties at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Trinidad and Tobago in September.
Minister Hinds welcomed His Excellency Oh to Trinidad and Tobago, noting the longstanding relationship between the two countries. The Minister underscored his commitment to the existing bilateral security cooperation with the Republic of Korea and encouraged expanding collaboration, towards increasing the safety and security of all in Trinidad and Tobago.
Ambassador Oh expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, as well as the opportunity to advance relations between the Republic of Korea and Trinidad and Tobago.
Discussions focused on capacity building in the areas of law enforcement and forensic analysis.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of National Security Head Office, Abercromby Street, Port of Spain. Also in attendance were Deputy Director of the International Affairs Unit at the Ministry of National Security, Major (Ret’d) Richard Lynch and Senior Researcher at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Dr. Kyungeun Park.
