A firearm and ammunition were found and seized by officers of the North-Eastern Division, during an anti-crime exercise in the Morvant district, yesterday.
Police reports indicate that the exercise was conducted between 4pm and 6 pm on Saturday 18th July 2020. It was co-ordinated by Ag. Snr Supt Ramkhelawan, ASP Gyan, Ag. Insp Pitt; and supervised by Cpl Gordon, Ag Cpl Ali, PC Hall and officers of the Major Operations Unit.
According to police reports, while on exercise, officers received information which led them to Building C, Paradise Heights, Morvant.
They conducted a search in the washroom area of the building, which resulted in the discovery of one black berretta pistol with one magazine and 15 rounds of 9 mm ammunition. The weapon and ammunition had been hidden under a sink.
No one was arrested.
Investigations are ongoing.
