Jack Warner’s health is improving. The Politician and Former Football Executive confirmed this in a press release sent on Thursday.
“I am doing much better,” he said.
Warner who was diagnosed with COVID-19 last week said he was still warded at the Couva Hospital and medical staff were doing their best but he would not wish the virus on anyone.
“This is not the journey I would wish upon my worst enemy, “he said.
“Many times, in the quietude of the night, I lay on my bed thinking about my family and friends; this unfortunate circumstance called COVID-19 which has deprived them from visiting my bedside,” he continued.
However, the 77-year-old said even with no visits, the well wishes from members of the public uplifted him.
“I read the messages, the texts of consolation, listen to the voice notes that were sent to me and I am humbled, tears come to my eyes because I realize that I am not alone,” he said.
“The outpouring of love and concern by people from all walks of life really caught me by surprise,” he continued.
Warner described T&T citizens as a loving people with a deep sense of affinity which he sees as a gift.
“It dawned upon me that in spite of the many who attempt to divide us, caring for each other is embedded deep within our psyche,” he said.
“Our people are very forgiving and very kind and living in a country where people are so concerned about you and are eager and willing to give a helping hand,” he continued.
He asked citizens to stay safe and out of harm’s way.
