A Siparia man was arrested by Police in Fyzabad on Tuesday night for assaulting a police officer and disorderly behaviour.
According to the police Julien Andrews, a 42-year-old labourer, of Small Trace, was approached by two officers after they received a report of a man wielding a weapon.
When the officers arrived at the scene they also allegedly observed the accused shouting explicit language and verbal threats in the roadway.
PC Sagar and PC Billy approached Andrews, identified themselves as officers and proceeded to caution him about his behaviour. Andrews reportedly responded with further use of obscenities at which point the officers attempted to restrain him.
According to the police service the 42-year-old labourer resisted, pushing and kicking one of the officers in the chest.
He was eventually subdued and taken to the Fyzabad Police Station
where he was charged for obscene language, disorderly behaviour,
assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
