Laventille man arrested for narcotics possession

A 41-year-old man was charged with narcotics possession, after police executed a search warrant at his Laventille home yesterday and discovered cannabis and cocaine on the premises.

An official report from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) explains that the search warrant had actually been for illegal firearms and ammunition.

According to the TTPS release, police executed a search warrant the residence of Leon King (aka “Toby”)—an apartment at Plaisance Terrace, Laventille.

Police say the items mentioned in the warrant were not found at the apartment. However, police reportedly found 1.269 kilograms of cannabis along with 215 grams of cocaine.
