A law clerk accused of sexually touching a seven-year-old girl has been warned to stay away from the child after he was given bail in the sum of $75,000.
The Princes Town man appeared in a virtual hearing before Princes Town Senior magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine yesterday but he was not called upon to plead to the charge.
He was arrested after the child reported to the Child Protection that the man assaulted her.
Investigations were headed by acting Supt George, actingASP Sookdeo, supervised by acting Insp Francis and conducted by WPC Quashie Gay who subsequently charged him.
Court prosecutor Sgt Shazeed Mohammed did not object to bail as he the accused has no criminal record.
The prosecutor, however, asked for bail conditions.
The magistrate ordered the law clerk to have no communication with the girl, either directly or indirectly.
She also ordered him to stay 300 meters away from the child.
The matter was adjourned to August 6.
