The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services is reminding recipients of the Senior Citizens’ Pension and their relatives that the Life Certificate signing process will resume, effective 1st April 2022.

An advisory from the Ministry notes that pensioners will need to visit their respective Local Board Office to sign the Life Certificate register.  The measure was suspended previously, in keeping with procedures and guidelines implemented by the Government, to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Pensioners and their relatives are urged to note the following:

●   Persons will be required to sign the register once per year as is customary.  For example, if you usually sign the register in March, you will not be required to visit the office until March next year to sign the register;

●   Persons will be notified via mail or notice on cheques, when they are required to visit the office to sign the register; and

●   Arrangements will be made for persons with physical disabilities who are unable to visit the office to sign the register.

For more information, the public is encouraged to visit the Ministry’s website at www.social.gov.tt; or contact their Local District Office; or call the Ministry’s toll-free hotline at 800-1MSD (1673).
