Local dancehall artiste among 3 arrested for marijuana possession

Two men, along with popular local dance dancehall artiste, Taylor Swan (also known as Prince Swanny), have been arrested and charged for the offence of Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Two men, along with popular local dance dancehall artiste, Taylor Swan (also known as Prince Swanny), have been arrested and charged for the offence of Possession of Marijuana for the Purpose of Trafficking.

According to a police report, at about 3:30 pm on October 27, officers of the Guard and Emergency Branch were on mobile patrol proceeding in an easterly direction along the Beetham Highway in the vicinity of VMCOTT.

The officers had cause to stop and search a black Mercedes Benz driven by Swan, of School Street, Carenage. There were two other occupants in the car with him—Daniel Charles aka “Bamboo” of Haig St, Carenage, and 18-year-old Akeem St Hill of Arima.

The vehicle was searched, and police found and seized 1.5 kilogrammes of compressed marijuana.

All the occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged.

They appeared before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate on Wednesday October 28th.

All three were all granted bail.
