Negus George, of Seventh Street, Gooding Trace in Malabar, has been formally charged with the murder of 23-year-old Andrea Bharatt.
Police laid the charge against the 24-year-old, this morning.

George is expected to appear before an Arima Magistrate via an online connection some time in the coming hours.
Senior homicide investigators told Guardian Media that it is likely George will be at the Arima Police Station for the virtual hearing.

Meanwhile, George’s girlfriend, a 35-year-old from Malabar, is expected to be formally charged today, with receiving stolen property.
Sources say there is an administrative requirement that needs to be completed before she can be formally charged.
Andrea Bharatt was kidnapped at King Street, Arima, on January 29th, and her body found dumped off a precipice six days later in the Heights of Aripo on February 4th.
