A 41-year-old man from Malick was arrested earlier today for possession of a firearm and ammunition and possession of marijuana for trafficking within 500 metres of a school.
According to police reports, the arrest was made during an anti-crime exercise conducted in Morvant between 4 am, and 7:30 am. Several houses and drug blocks were searched, resulting in one Tanfoglio pistol with 10 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition and 86.4 grammes of marijuana being found.
The exercise was supervised by ACP Belfon, Snr Supt Maharaj, Supt. Alexander and Supt. Ramjohn, ASP Beharry, and Insp Bharath. It included Sgt. Ramsingh and Sgt. Norton, Ag Cpl. Singh and members of the Morvant Criminal Investigations Department (CID), North Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF), and the Canine Unit. Investigations are ongoing
