One man was arrested, and a firearm and ammunition seized by officers of the Maloney Police Station during an anti-crime exercise conducted on Saturday 8th August, 2020.

Official police reports state that police officers were on mobile patrol in the vicinity of the Building 14 car park, when they observed the suspect (who is known to them) on the north eastern entrance holding the left side of his waist.

Upon seeing the officers, the suspect turned quickly and started walking away in an easterly direction.  The officers gave chase and held the suspect a short distance away in the staircase area.

The TTPS statement reports that officers carried out a search of the suspect and found a Colt .38 firearm and six rounds of .38 ammunition in the left side of his pants waist.

He was arrested and taken to the Maloney Police Station.

The arrest was made by officers of the Maloney Crime Unit supervised by Sgt Guelmo.

Investigations are ongoing.
