25-year-old, Marcus Munroe was charged with the murder of Allan Sanchez. He appeared virtually before Magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor at the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court on Monday 14th February and is expected to reappear in court on 22nd February 2022. A Morvant man was remanded into custody when he appeared virtually before Magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor at the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court today, Monday 14th February, after he was charged with murder.
On Sunday 13th February 2022, the Director of Public Prosecutions Mr. Roger Gaspard SC advised officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigation (HBI) Region 1 to charge MARCUS MUNROE, 25, of Romain Lands, Morvant with the offence of murder.
He is expected to reappear in court on 22nd February 2022.
According to a police report, on 20th March 2021 the burnt remains of Allan Sanchez, 58, were found at Romain Lands, Morvant. Officers of the Homicide Bureau conducted intensive investigations into the matter and as a result, the accused was arrested by PC Ferguson on February 10th, 2022, and was subsequently charged by WPC Theroulde.
Another accused, JASON STAPLETON was previously charged on the 19th April 2021 with murder in connection with the death of Sanchez, that matter is also before the court.
