One man was arrested for larceny during an Operation Strike Back 3 exercise in the San Juan area, yesterday, Friday 20th August 2021.

The exercise was conducted between the hours of 11am and 2 pm.

According to official police reports, the officers proceeded to Ramjass Trace to conduct investigations relative to a missing Stihl TS 400 Road Saw, which was stolen from an engineering company sometime between 31st March and 1st April 2021.

A search was conducted at the home of a former employee of the company, where the Saw was recovered.

SHERWIN SALAZAR, 43, of Ramjass Trace, Don Miguel Road, San Juan, was arrested and subsequently charged for the offense of larceny by PC Berkley.

Earlier during the exercise, officers of the North-Eastern Division Task Force and the Stolen Vehicles Unit were on exercise duty at Don Miguel Road, where several vehicles at a wayside garage were inspected by officers of the Stolen Vehicles Unit.

The exercise was spearheaded by Ag ACP Belfon, Ag.Snr. Supt Maharaj, Ag.Supt Ramjohn, ASP Pariman, and coordinated by Insp Bharath, and supervised by Ag/Sgt Martin and Ag/Sgt Maynard.  It included members of the San Juan Criminal Investigation Department, Canine Unit and Stolen Vehicles Unit.
