A 38-year-old labourer from Wallerfield, Arima, has been arrested on
for the offence with sexual touching of a minor.
The victim, a six-year-old female, reported to a family member that
on April 1st and 19th 2020, the accused, a male
family member, who was charged with the responsibility of babysitting
the victim touched her on her vagina. A report was made to the Child
Protection Unit, who conducted enquiries and arrested and charged
the accused.
The Arima man was charged and expected to appear at the Arima
Magistrates’ Court today April 28th, 2020.
The arrest was spearheaded by the Child Protection Unit, namely
W/Supt. George and ASP Nowbutt and supervised by Inspector
Baptiste while Cpl Maurice led the investigations.
