Quick response by officers of the Southern Division Emergency Response Patrol (ERP) led to the arrest of one man and the seizure of a nine-millimetre pistol and five rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition.

According to official police reports, at around 4 pm on Saturday 8th August 2020, officers responded to a report from the E999 Command Centre of a man armed with a firearm in the vicinity of Bakey’s Bar, Market Street, Princes Town.

On arrival, the officers conducted a search of the suspect and found him in possession of the illegal items in his waist.

The suspect was arrested and taken to the Princes Town Police Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
