One man was arrested and a revolver and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division Special Investigations Unit, during an anti-crime exercise in Arima district early this morning.
According to police reports, officers investigating a series of robberies at cellular phone stores in the Central and Southern Divisions had cause to execute a search warrant at a house at Mendez Trace, Arima, between 1:00 am and 3:0`0am.
The search resulted in four cellular phones which were reported stolen being discovered and a 27-year-old St. Augustine man being arrested in connection with the find. A search was subsequently conducted at the suspect’s house, which resulted in one revolver and five rounds of ammunition, which were reported stolen from a security guard in January 2020, being discovered. Investigations are ongoing.
