Man arrested, stolen pistol recovered

During an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Princes Town district yesterday, Tuesday 15 March 2022, officers of the Southern Division arrested one man and recovered a pistol and a quantity of ammunition. Details follow in this press release from the TTPS:

One man was arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition which were reported stolen during a robbery incident, were recovered by officers of the Southern Division, during an anti-crime exercise, conducted in the Princes Town district yesterday afternoon.

The exercise, spearheaded by W/Snr. Supt. Lucia Winchester and supervised by ASP Jaikaran and Sgt. Teeluck, was conducted between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday 15th March, 2022.

Based on intelligence, officers proceeded to Buen Intento, Princes Town, where they recovered one M&P pistol fitted with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition which were allegedly taken during a robbery incident earlier that day.

A 40-year-old Princes Town man was arrested in connection with the find.

Investigations are ongoing.
