One man was arrested with a firearm and a quantity of ammunition in the Santa Cruz area by officers of Santa Cruz Criminal Investigations Department (CID), during an anti-crime exercise conducted on Saturday 5th September 2020.

The exercise was coordinated by Sgt (Ag) Nelson and assisted by PC Holder and other officers of the Santa Cruz CID.

According to official police reports, while on mobile patrol, the officers saw a man walking along Blackford Street, Upper Santa Cruz, who reportedly was behaving suspiciously.

He was stopped and during a search, the officers found one Beretta Pistol and 15 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition.

A further search was conducted at his residence and officers found three rounds of ammunition.

Investigations are continuing.
