Man breaks curfew to escape gun attack

A 23-year-old man from Sangre Grande told police he was forced to break curfew on Monday night to run to safety as gunmen attempted to kill him at his home.

He claimed when he made the attempt to run for his life the gunmen chased him for a distance before giving up.

According to a police report, at about 10 pm the victim was at his home at Hibiscus Drive when he saw two masked gunmen approaching him.

As the men began shooting at him the victim said he made his dash to safety by running out of his house and through several of his neighbour’s homes and yards.

The gunmen chased after him but then gave up.

The man, who sustained injuries made a report to the police.

A party of police officers who visited the scene processed it and recovered 19 spent shells.

Investigations are ongoing.
