A 39-year-old man is expected to be charged for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition after being held by officers of the Barrackpore Police Station yesterday morning. According to police reports, acting on information, the officers arrived at the Croix Road, Lengua Village home of the suspect at 6:00 am on June 5th. Upon spotting the officers, the man jumped through a window and began fleeing from the officers. A chase ensued and he was quickly apprehended. The officers then searched the man during which they discovered a .38 revolver and six rounds of .38 ammunition. He was immediately arrested and taken into police custody where he is expected to be charged by lead investigator, PC Khan. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
