A man is now in police custody after skeletal remains were found in Gran Couva on Friday night that police are reasonably confident are the remains are of Hemraj Bedassie, 36, who was reported missing on August 23.
While further confirmation is required, family members identified clothing and electronic devices found alongside the body as belonging to the missing man.
The body was recovered from a bushy area off Boisseirre Trace in Gran Couva.
A 26-year old man from Gasparillo is helping the police with their inquiries.
Police had issued a Missing Persons alert on August 26 seeking the urgent assistance of the public in locating Bedassie of Cooper Grange Road, St. John’s Village, San Fernando.
He had been reported missing by a relative to the St Madeline Police Station.
