After his killers blew out his brains with a single gunshot, an unidentified man was thrown out of a vehicle at the side of a dark, deserted street in Macaulay Village, Claxton Bay, over the weekend.

About ten hours later, at 7.45 am on yesterday, the police stumbled upon the body. The bullet which ended his life entered through his left ear and exited at the back of his head.

Up to press time, he remained unidentified. Investigators said the victim appeared to be in his thirties and was of African descent. His hair was braided and he had a beard. He wore a grey tee-shirt and blue jeans and the number 1988 was tattooed on his abdomen.

A team of officers led by Supt Nobbie and Insp Joseph Carraspe visited the scene along with Homicide officers. Although no spent shells were found, police retrieved a pouch nearby which they say could have belonged to either the victim or one of his attackers.

District Medical Officer Dr Daniel viewed the body and ordered it removed to the Forensic Science Centre.

Police released several photos of the dead man on the scene late yesterday in the hope that someone will come forward and identify him.
