An early morning shooting on Monday in Laventille has left one man hospitalised.
According to a police report, around 5:55 am the victim was at his home at La Resource Street, when he heard a knocking on the back door.
He told police he went to check and saw a firearm being forced through a nearby window.
The 27-year-old man said he fell to the ground and subsequently heard gunshots ringing out.
A short while after he felt a burning to the right shoulder and realised that he was shot and wounded.
A party of officers led by Cpl Sookhoo responded on the scene and took the victim to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was treated. Currently, he is warded in a stable condition.
