One man is dead and another wounded following a shooting incident in South Oropouche this afternoon.
Dead is Jason Sankar, 20, of Stella Street, La Romaine. Initial information is that around 5 pm Sankar and Sterlin Walker were among a group of men playing cards at a house at Red Brick Trace, South Oropouche.
Video footage shows a car pulling up and two occupants exiting. They ran into the house.
Police said the gunmen announced a hold up and fired several shots. They then ran back into the car. Sankar died on the way to the San Fernando General Hospital.
Investigations are continuing.
