A 42-year-old labourer from Marabella is expected to appear before the San Fernando First Magistrates’ Court today, charged with the murder of Keith Haynes.
An official release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) states that the charge of murder was laid against Keston Jordan by Detective Constable Stacy Ann George after advice received from the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Mrs Joan Honore-Paul.
According to the TTPS, the incident occurred on the morning of Monday 3rd August 2020, when the victim allegedly had an argument with another man outside a residence in Marabella. A scuffle ensued and the victim was seen running away as the man chased him. Later, the man was allegedly seen kicking the victim as he lay in the road.
A knife reportedly was seen protruding from the victim’s chest by an observer who attempted to assist the victim. He was conveyed to the San Fernando Accident and Emergency Department for treatment but succumbed to his injuries later that morning.
A report was made, and officers of the Homicide Region Three Office responded. The accused later surrendered to officers at the Homicide Region Three Office on Thursday 6th August, 2020.
Investigations into the incident were spearheaded by Insp Figaro under the supervision of Supt Sean Dhillpaul.
