WASA says that the interruption in water supply in POS and environs is due to a mechanical problem at the El Socorro Booster Station. The following is a press release from WASA:

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of Port of Spain and environs served by the El Socorro Booster Station, who are currently experiencing an interruption in their pipe borne water supply that, this is due to mechanical problems being experienced at the facility.
Emergency repair works currently underway are expected to be completed by 10:00 p.m. today – Tuesday 19th January, 2021.
Areas affected include:
 East Dry River • Cascade
 Morvant • St. Anns
 Barataria • St. James
 Old St. Joseph Road • Woodbrook
 Picton • Port of Spain
 Belmont • Parts of West Moorings
 St. Barbs
Customers are advised that following the resumption of operations of the plant, it may
take up to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to some

affected areas.
