The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) is advising that the Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert has been discontinued for both Trinidad and Tobago.

The alert level has been reduced to Green, the lowest on the TTMS Risk Assessment Matrix.

According to the latest release issued by the TTMS, the previously forecast heavy showers and thunderstorm activity has dissipated, however, there remain a chance of isolated thunderstorm activity in a few areas this afternoon.

The TTMS notes that at this time, it is monitoring an active Tropical Wave that is interacting with the ITCZ. This activity is expected to begin affecting T&T after midnight tonight.

As such, the T&T Met Service is advising citizens to keep monitoring weather conditions and updates from official sources, namely: their website at metoffice.gov.tt; and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) at odpm.gov.tt.
