Minister Young meets with Japan’s Ambassador to T&T

Minister Young meets with outgoing Ambassador of Japan to The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to discuss greenhouse emissions along with other topics in the energy sector, geared towards maintaining a strong relationship between both countries. The Minister of Energy and Energy Industries and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Honourable Stuart R. Young M.P, met with outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, His Excellency Tatsuo Hirayama and First Secretary, Mr. Nobuaki Hanawa today Tuesday 8th February 2022 at the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries International Waterfront Complex Head-Office.

While the production of methanol and operations at Caribbean Gas Chemical Limited, as well as the eradication of greenhouse emissions were topics of discussion, Minister Young also extended appreciation on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to Mr. Hirayama for his service as Ambassador.

Mr. Hirayama, who spent three years of dedicated service and will be proceeding on retirement, expressed appreciation on behalf of the Government of Japan for the hospitality during his tenure. Minister Young conveyed his interest in continually improving the relationship between both Trinidad and Tobago and the Japan Government for the future development of the energy sector.
